Beaute de Maman
09.03.01, 09:33 AM by Andrea
As a woman who is already cursed with oily, acne-prone skin, one of my greatest worries is the effect getting pregnant would have on my skin, and finding safe products to take help with my skin-care worries. Beaute de Maman has come up with a formula for safe and effective remedies for problems that many women experience during pregnancy. The products use natural botanical oils and herbs instead of the harsh chemicals that women are supposed to avoid during pregnancy. With Beaute de Maman products, women can feel safe while taking care of their skin, and know that no harsh chemicals are going to reach their precious little one. After reading some testimonies about Beaute de Maman products, I know that I will feel more confident during my pregnancy because I will still be able to take care of my skin and not have to worry about chemical side-effects. Best of all, the products have been developed by an obstetrician who knows what problems expectant mothers encounter. Although the line of products is currently small, Beaute de Maman is working to increase the variety of its products. I look forward to seeing what Beaute de Maman has to offer expectant women in the future! I highly recommend that you order now!

Banana Nut Cheerios
09.02.04, 12:37 AM by Andrea
I’ve just discovered Banana Nut Cheerios. I’ve never been a fan of Cheerios, so I was skeptical, but something made me decide to purchase the new Banana Nut variety. Jack opened the box first, and said that the Banana Nut Cheerios were really good. I decided to give them a chance, and I was not sorry. Now, I’m not a person who likes milk on her cereal. A lot of cereals are just too dry to eat plain. Not Banana Nut Cheerios – they were like a breakfast dessert. I will certainly be looking for this cereal again, and hopefully I’ll be able to find it at a decent price.
January is almost over
09.01.31, 12:21 AM by Andrea
It is so hard to believe that we are already a month into 2009. Time goes so fast – it makes me wonder what I was thinking as a child when I always wished time to pass faster. I’m hoping that 2009 brings about change – for the better – but time needs to slow down!
The Superbowl is tomorrow. I’ll be cheering for the Steelers, as a Pittsburgh girl should. I have my doubts about whether they can pull off a win. They’re a good team, but the Steelers haven’t had a great year. Most of the wins I think have been luck. Regardless, I still hope they win their 6th Superbowl.
Grossology
09.01.27, 07:28 AM by Andrea
My students are avid readers of the Grossology books by Silvia Branzei. They were absolutely thrilled to hear that The Orlando Science Center was opening a Grossology exhibit. In fact, many even threatened to hop the next plane to Florida! Together, we discussed the books, speculated about the hands-on activities, and talked about maybe being able to visit such an exhibit someday. Most of my students discussed the Tour du Nose activity. Only a few students seemed to be disgusted, to my surprise. The majority of the students became engrossed in the possibilities of hands-on Grossology activities. However, the group favorite was the Burp Machine. Many of the boys in my classroom were overcome with laughter upon hearing they would get to hear a loud burp at the end of the activity. I have a feeling many of my students will be begging their parents for trips to the Grossology Exhibit – Orlando Science Center. My students and I also discussed the appeal of hands-on activities. The class determined that hands-on activities help them to recall processes better, especially bodily processes, because they can recall their reactions through each step of the process. I only wish that the exhibit was closer to us, but perhaps someday my students will be able to experience Grossology.

If you are able to visit the Grossology exhibit at the Orlando Science Center, please be sure to share your experience with me (and enjoy)!

Finally Friday
09.01.23, 09:20 PM by Andrea
I don’t know if I’ve ever been so glad to see Friday. This week was filled with issues, such as car problems and babysitting debacles. I babysat my nephew today. That child would not take a nap to save his life. He fights sleep to the point where he sits in his bouncer and shakes his head “no” while rubbing his eyes and whimpering, but he will not give in. I suppose it doesn’t help that he wants the cat, and the cat sits a few feet in front of him, taunting. I didn’t sleep well last night, so I was hoping the baby would nap, but no such luck. I hope I sleep better tonight. I probably won’t though, as I never really do. Oh well, at least tomorrow is Saturday and I can sleep all day if I have to.
Puzzle Quest: Galactrix
09.01.19, 09:10 PM by Andrea
Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords surprised me. I don’t usually care for games with that sort of “war” theme. The first Puzzle Quest was unusually addicting, however. Now I am eagerly awaiting Puzzle Quest: Galactrix. I like the idea of solving puzzles to colonize planets and customize spaceships. I just hope that the game has some surprises, and that the puzzles are somewhat different than Challenge of the Warlords. This game is definitely on my wishlist, and I may even get it for Jack for his birthday. He also enjoys the first Puzzle Quest. It’s been nice to find some games that we both like, since we have very different tastes.
Christmas Clearance
09.01.14, 09:06 PM by Andrea
I was amazed to walk into the local shopping mall today and see how much Christmas merchandise is still left on the shelves. It must be because of the current economic situation. I know I didn’t do the usual post-Christmas shopping frenzy that I usually do. We just couldn’t afford it this year. I wonder how long stores will leave the merchandise on the shelves, or how low they will let prices drop before they just write off the merchandise. It is kind of depressing to walk into stores and still see some reminders of the holidays on the shelves. I see it as just one more reminder how many families couldn’t afford anything this past holiday season.
Happy New Year!
09.01.01, 12:20 AM by Andrea
Happy new year, everyone! Here’s to hoping that everyone has a happy and healthy 2009. Did anyone make any resolutions? I never stick to resolutions (or remember them, for that matter), so I didn’t make any this year. I have more than enough things to preoccupy my time.
Jack and I had a small party, and everyone has left by now. We played Guitar Hero and some other Wii games. We also had a ton of food. I hope we get to do this next year. Everyone had a lot of fun!
Christmas is Over
08.12.28, 11:14 AM by Andrea
It’s so hard to believe that the holidays are already over. I feel like I just finished decorating and wrapping presents. The truth is, I DID just finish decorating and wrapping presents on Christmas Eve. Next year I don’t want to wait until the last minute. The biggest problem was worrying about the cat attacking the Christmas tree. The ideal situation would be to block off the living room, but I have no idea how to go about it. If I end up getting another kitten, next Christmas may be just as hectic.
I also don’t want to spend as much money next Christmas. I feel like we spent a good bit of money on some people for not a lot in return. I know that sounds horribly selfish, but if others don’t put time/thought into gifts, why should we? I know that we will want to cut costs next Christmas (unless we win the lottery). Oh well. Next is New Year’s Eve, and then no major holidays until Easter.
CEIVA Digital Photo Frames
08.12.23, 11:54 AM by Andrea
Have you got a wish this Christmas? Many people in my family do! I’ve spent countless hours searching for digital photo frames for my family and friends. In my search for a unique digital photo frame, I found CEIVA. I had the opportunity to preview how CEIVAshare digital photo frames work through the Sit on Santa’s Lap video. I uploaded a photo from my wedding day, a picture of me right after my hair was styled. The picture I uploaded is a picture that I would want to share with my family and friends. I showed the result to my husband, and he was amazed. CEIVAshare digital photo frames offer a unique feature that comes in handy if your family and friends live far away – the PicturePlan. The PicturePlan allows photos to be sent directly to your CEIVAshare digital photo frame from family and friends around the world! This feature completely took me by surprise, as I’ve never seen any other digital photo frame with this option. Best of all, CEIVA is currently running a contest – 1 random entry selected for each day of the contest; cash prize of $500 per winner. What could be better this holiday season than a wonderful digital photo frame and $500?
